I'm now offering a kid's fitness class for ages 5-11 at Next Level Total Fitness in Lori Laine Plaza at 1301 South Patrick Drive in Satellite Beach! The class will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 pm as soon as I have 4 kids signed up. Cost will be $30 per month per child for coming once a week and $50 per month per child for coming to both classes. We will do everything from relays to obstacle courses, bodyweight exercises to yoga, and boxing to parkour. The idea is to offer to children a plethora of options in which they can incorporate fun, functional, fitness into their lives (for the rest of their lives)!

Ok, now that I've climbed down from my soapbox, I have a quick tip for you! It's generally regarded as extra helpful for fat burning to do cardio (like circuits, high intensity intervals, or go for a long walk, whatever you like) first thing in the morning before you eat. I did 10 minutes of high intensity intervals in the mornings for a few weeks and felt that it definitely helped. It really woke me up in the morning and started my day off right. If you have the tendency for low blood sugar, drink some juice beforehand (personal experience).
The idea is that working out before you eat in the morning will force your body to burn fat stores for energy because you don't have carbohydrates readily available from your latest meal. If you're going to stick with something high intensity, 10 minutes is great. If you're going on the low intensity side then 30 minutes or more is ideal. At the end of the day though, do whatever you can do. If you can only do a 15 minute walk that's fine, you have to do what will work for you. You won't be burning as much fat as the high intensity group, but it'll happen, slow but sure! Weight loss is an exellent exercise (pun!) in patience!
